Welcoming Mr. Park Sang Woo and members of the delegation to visit and work in the province, PPC’s Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan hoped that the Minister's first visit would leave many good impressions, serving as a solid basis for cooperation between Bac Ninh and Korea in the field of urban development.

The Secretary gave an overview of the province's socio-economic development situation. He emphasized that with its geopolitical location and favorable regional and regional connectivity, quality human resources, and good implementation of investment attraction policies, Bac Ninh is considered a safe, attractive and friendly investment destination by foreign investors and businesses. To date, the whole province has more than 2,300 FDI projects from 41 countries and territories, with a total investment capital of nearly USD 28 billion, he added.

The Secretary affirmed that with the attention and direction of the Korean Government, including the contribution of the Minister, Korean businesses have always supported, invested and succeeded in Vietnam in general, and Bac Ninh province in particular, thereby, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea. Korea is the leading country with nearly 1,000 projects, total investment capital of USD 14.65 billion, accounting for nearly 60% of total foreign investment capital in the province; Korean investors have made important contributions to the province's socio-economic development, he stressed.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan highly appreciated that after many years as General Director of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), the Minister always paid attention to promoting LH and Bac Ninh province to sign a MoU on the Vietnam - Korea Urban Growth Partnership Program in June 2023 and a MoU on Urban Development in the Southeast region of Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province on July 1, 2024. He believed that with the management system, financial capacity and experience, LH would soon fully prepare the necessary conditions to carry out cooperative activities and the ability to deploy future projects. Bac Ninh province is committed to create all conditions and coordinating closely with LH to successfully implement the MoU, he highlighted.

Tuan hoped that the Minister would continue to pay attention and introduce Korean businesses to invest in Bac Ninh in the future. At the same time, he hoped that the urban area of ​​the Southeast region of Bac Ninh city in particular and projects of Korean investors in Bac Ninh in general would create a highlight in the province's urban development next year. Once the urban area is completed, it will be a typical demonstration of the good cooperative relationship between the two countries in general, and between Bac Ninh and Korea in particular, he noted.

For his part, Mr. Park Sang Woo highly appreciated the strategic location, environment, and investment attraction policies of Bac Ninh province. With many large businesses investing in the province and an abundant labor source, Bac Ninh is truly an attractive destination for Korean investors.

Mr. Park Sang Woo affirmed that Korea and Bac Ninh have a close relationship with many similarities, both having a small area but strong economic growth rate. With experience in the field of urban development, Korea pledged to continue to share and support Bac Ninh to successfully develop new urban areas in the future, aiming to replicate nationwide.
