On the morning of October 1, a delegation of Bac Ninh province went to Ho Chi Minh Park in Havana to offer flowers at the statue of Uncle Ho. Also attending were Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long; representatives of the Central Office of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association.

The delegates observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and the international communist movement. They also expressed their appreciation for the sentiments of the Party, State and people of Cuba for President Ho Chi Minh and the country of Vietnam.

At the meeting with leaders of Artemisa province, Mr. Gladys Martínez Verdecia, Politburo member, Provincial Party Secretary, introduced an overview of the general situation of Party and government building, the socio-economic situation of the province; discussed some current economic difficulties of the province as well as development plans in the coming time.

Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan respectfully thanked the warm welcome, the solidarity and loyalty between Vietnam and Cuba, and gave general information about Bac Ninh province. Although Bac Ninh is the smallest province in Vietnam, it has many socio-economic indicators in the top 10 nationwide such as: Industrial production scale ranked first; export value ranked second, import ranked third; provincial green index ranked third; GRDP per capita ranked fourth; foreign direct investment attraction (FDI) in the first 9 months of 2024 ranked first nationwide; provincial competitiveness index (PCI) ranked 7th; GRDP scale ranked 9th; leading the country in the proportion of digital economy in GRDP. Bac Ninh is implementing many solutions to develop union members and party members. Currently, Bac Ninh is a province with positive and important contributions to economic development and building a rich and strong country.

Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan affirmed that Bac Ninh province would implement the contents according to the direction of General Secretary and President To Lam during his recent official visit to Cuba. He actively called for and mobilized Vietnamese and Bac Ninh enterprises to invest in Artemisa province; introduced DABACO Vietnam Group and Viglacera Corporation (two large enterprises investing in Bac Ninh). Currently, Viglacera is investing in building an industrial park in Cuba. In the coming time, DABACO Vietnam Group will research and invest in Cuba in the fields in which the Group has experience.

On this occasion, DABACO Vietnam Group presented some of the Group's agricultural products to Artemisa province such as: Instant eggs, cooking oil, canned meat, sausages...

Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan suggested that immediately after this visit, DABACO Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company consider and support Artemisa province with 20 thousand liters of cooking oil, 200 thousand instant chicken eggs as well as support with breeds and techniques to develop high-tech agriculture for the people of Artemisa province.

Mr. Gladys Martínez Verdecia thanked the sentiments of the delegation of Bac Ninh province. The Cuban people in general and Artemisa province in particular always cherish and remember the deep sentiments of the Vietnamese people for the people and country of Cuba. He hoped that after the visit of General Secretary, President To Lam and the delegation of Bac Ninh province, the cooperation programs and agreements of the two countries in general and Bac Ninh province with Artemisa province (Cuba) in particular would be implemented with the highest efficiency.

On this occasion, leaders of Artemisa and Bac Ninh provinces visited Mariel Special Development Zone. Joining the Bac Ninh delegation was Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long.

Mariel Special Development Zone covers an area of ​​465.4 square kilometers and has many advantages in terms of transport infrastructure and preferential policies to attract investment. Here, Viglacera Corporation (Ministry of Construction) is implementing the Vimarie Industrial Park project with a scale of 256 hectares. Currently, a number of Vietnamese and foreign investors have implemented investment projects in Vimarie Industrial Park.

Mr. Gladys Martínez Verdecia acknowledged and highly appreciated Vigalcera's contribution to the development of the special zone's industrial park infrastructure. He hoped that many Vietnamese and foreign investors would continue to invest in this industrial park.

Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan congratulated Vigalacera on its success in implementing the infrastructure investment project at Vimariel Industrial Park in Cuba. He believed that with the successful investment projects in Bac Ninh province, Viglacera would continue to be successful in Cuba, serving as a bridge for investment between Vietnamese and Bac Ninh enterprises into Cuba in the coming time. He asked the leaders of Artemisa province and Master Special Development Zone to create favorable conditions for Vigalacera and Vietnamese enterprises to implement investment projects here.

Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that Bac Ninh province would implement the direction of General Secretary and President To Lam after his recent official visit to Cuba. Along with exchanging with businesses to promote economic cooperation and investment in Cuba, he requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba to guide and create favorable conditions for businesses to carry out the promotion and investment procedures.

Ambassador Le Quang Long thanked the leaders of Bac Ninh province and agreed to accompany the province's businesses in implementing investment projects in Cuba.
