Online shopping and cashless payments launches

On October 4, the Department of Industry and Trade launched online shopping and cashless payments at Vincom Plaza Shopping Center (Bac Ninh City). This is an activity in response to the National Digital Transformation Day on October 10. Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the event.

On April 22, 2022, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 505/QD-TTg, taking October 10 every year as "National Digital Transformation Day". Among digital transformation activities, e-commerce, online shopping, and cashless payments are the most obvious manifestations, directly contributing to the development of the digital economy, business development, and meeting the increasing needs of the people.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, currently, enterprises in the province basically apply e-commerce in production and business activities as well as use non-cash payment methods through intermediary financial units such as bank transfers, QR code scanning...; 100% of supermarkets, shopping malls, convenience stores, service stores and fixed traders in markets all use non-cash payment methods; 100% of electricity, water, telecommunications and television service providers have paid fees and quoted fees via electronic means... These are important results contributing to the local digital transformation work, promoting the development of the digital economy in the province.

Standing Vice Chairman Dao Quang Khai affirmed the importance of digital transformation for the socio-economic development of the country in general and Bac Ninh province in particular. He requested the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to continue to disseminate and propagate to raise awareness, change the habit of paying in cash; promote the use of electronic payment methods in purchasing and consumption; create a spillover effect, stimulate domestic consumption; introduce solutions for developing e-commerce, information technology and applying digital transformation; coordinate with credit institutions and banks to effectively deploy electronic payment methods, especially focusing on guiding safe and secure cashless transactions and payments. Additionally, he called for organizing an e-commerce startup program to create a forum for sharing information, encouraging and motivating youth, students, the community, and businesses to engage, learn, and enhance creativity and practical experience in entrepreneurial skills and online sales through e-commerce. He also suggested hosting “Market Days” and “Cashless Payment Festivals” in specialized streets and pedestrian street, as well as organizing live streaming activities on social media platforms to promote and introduce products.

Departments, branches, sectors and localities continue to coordinate and create the most favorable conditions for the business community and people to participate in digital transformation and e-commerce activities in a practical and effective manner, thereby contributing to promoting the development of the province's digital economy.
